Image Compressor: Process a local JPG, PNG or WebP image in your browser with explicit dimensions and output format. Re-encoding may not make a file smaller; SVG and animated inputs are not accepted.
What this tool does
Resize or re-encode JPG, PNG and WebP images locally using the browser. Dedicated format tools select their named format; the favicon tool creates a 32-pixel PNG.
How to use it
Choose a supported raster image up to 10 MB. Set maximum dimensions and, for JPG/WebP, quality. Run and inspect the dimensions, byte change and preview. Download only if the result meets your visual and size requirements.
Why it matters
Smaller appropriately sized images can reduce transfer cost. Re-encoding is not always beneficial, so compare the actual byte size and appearance.
Example
An 800×200 image resized within a 400×400 box becomes 400×100. Aspect ratio is preserved; the tool does not stretch it into a square.
Understanding the result
The output reports original and resulting dimensions, MIME type and byte size. A negative byte reduction means the new file is larger. Metadata Checker reports only basic file and dimension information.
Limitations
Maximum decoded size is 20 megapixels. PNG ignores lossy-quality settings; JPEG transparency is flattened to white. SVG, animation preservation and EXIF/GPS extraction are not supported. Browser memory can limit large-image processing.

Is my input stored?
Browser tools process locally. Server tools process the input; reports are saved only when requested. Connected AI and data tools send required input to their service providers.
